We decided to have a lazy day today and just take our time. That's the beauty of not having a strict schedule and not booking out hotels until later. Since Fill 'Er Up Diner has no restrictions on when you have to eat breakfast, we came down closer to 10AM. It was a nice breakfast, with nice staff. One of which, totally saved us when forgot our "diaper bag" in our booth.
Since we were having a slow paced day, we really didn't do or see much. To be honest there wasn't much to see. That is until you start getting into the Salt Flats area. Even then, it looks like snow on the ground. Don't get me wrong, it's really cool too see just the tip of such a massive amount of land that was once a HUGE body of water.
Outside of not seeing much, don't expect to find an ATM in a gas station on the stretch between Winnemucca, NV and Salt Lake City, UT. However, I'm pretty sure you could just pop into the many casinos along the way and find one in seconds!
Our rest stop of the day: The Bonneville Salt Flats Rest Stop. We try to make a habit of NOT stopping at rest stops. But besides the fact that it is the BEST place to get a fantastic view of the Salt Flats, there is really no where else to go for a break. And where else will you see some one take their chickens out for a walk?

We did see a couple things things along the way. A weird looking art tree? What do you think?
And we helped a dude see that his gas cap was hanging OUTSIDE his car. It took quite a bit of honking for him to hear past the ear phones he had in (A SERIOUS NO-NO in driving!) and see our sign of "GAS CAP".
Needless to say, it was an easy drive to our hotel, the Quality Inn & Suites Airport West, in Salt Lake City, UT. It was weird that they gave us the handi-room. The staff was nice enough and the outdoor pool was a great tempature, but it definitely had some issues (Remember to click on the colored names for our reviews).
Since our little "Donut" spent most of the yelling, "CHEECHA!" (PIZZA!), we decided to order pick-up from Amelia's Bar & Grill, which is located IN the Ramada Inn next door. I can't say I was completely thrilled.
It's a good thing I have some great company.
